Get yourself ready for the 2020 derby season -- CANCELLED
After several years of no Soapbox Races in Montague, MA, and elsewhere, we now have the possibility of having up to THREE races in Western Mass, and possibly one elsewhere!
Mik Muller, Race Director for the Montague Races from 2010 through 2013, has been called back to action by Montague Town Administrator Steve Ellis to help a new committee bring the Montague Race back to life.
Once that germ of an idea floated around in Mik's head for a couple days, he called up the recreation departments for Greenfield and Bernardston to float the idea that perhaps they should hold races, as well.
Bernardston had held a soapbox race in 2012 as part of their 250th anniversary, and Greenfield, being the county seat, and with the largest population in Franklin County, deserves to have its own race.
Meetings are being held, and people are getting interested. Please tell your friends, and start thinking about that cart you've always wanted to build.
Stay tuned...
UPDATE: All races in 2020 have been cancelled, but will return in 2021.
